Robotic surgery is the most advanced and minimally invasive form of surgery. We can now perform more and more complex procedures with smaller incisions. This allows much faster recovery, less pain, and less complications. Most surgeries can even be done as an outpatient with less down-time. We are a high volume, Robotic Center of Excellence.
All surgeries performed in the abdomen in our practice are done utilizing minimally invasive technique, the most complex procedures are all done with the latest robotic technology. Small incisions (1/4-1/2”) are used to insert instruments into the abdomen and those instruments are controlled by the surgeon through the robot. The robot allows for better visualization and more intricate movements of the instruments. Being able to see the tissues in greater detail with more precise manipulation of the instruments leads to less tissue damage and better outcomes.
